The newspaper notes:
In Castro's favor, he specifically identifies issues facing each county and he desires assignment to the Veterans Affairs committee that King leads. We appreciate his lifelong dedication to this area; he was educated in Old Glory, graduated from Angelo State and after getting his law degree in Austin, returned to West Texas to live and work. He also has been preparing for this race for two years and comes across as a more well-rounded and informed candidate than in 2014.
As your legislator down in Austin, I will work hard to represent the values and concerns of our communities right here in Jones, Nolan, and Taylor Counties. Early Voting has begun, so please get out and vote in our state's important primary election!
I am proud to be endorsed by Texas Right To Life as a pro-life champion. I believe life begins at conception and as your State Representative, I will always strive to protect our most vulnerable Texans.
I need your vote in the Republican Primary on March 1, 2016, or you can vote early beginning on February 16. Thank you!

I’m excited to inform everyone that I filed for a place on the Republican Primary ballot on Saturday, November 14, 2015, the first day of filing. While in Austin, my daughter and I had the opportunity to visit with my friend, Tom Mechler, the State Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas in the new party offices.
Our campaign began many months ago, and I have enjoyed meeting many new friends. I continue to knock on doors and attend meetings to listen to your concerns and to discuss my positions on the issues. I look forward to meeting many more of you as we work toward the primary on March 1, 2016.
Isaac M. Castro
I will never shrink from the cause of conservatism. The Republican Party must stand for something, and I believe it is time for our leaders to reflect our values.
Jones, Nolan, and Taylor Counties are among the most conservative in all of Texas, yet we are currently represented by one of the most liberal Republicans in the Texas House of Representatives. Does that sound right to you?
It doesn't sound right to me. I am running as the conservative alternative to the moderate/liberal status quo. I will fight for West Texas values, not the values of so-called elites and insiders from Washington, D.C. or Austin.
Our conservative grassroots campaign is working hard to make as many voter contacts as possible. We are knocking on doors, making calls, and listening to what our neighbors care about most in the race for State Representative. We need your help block walking and spreading the word about the need for conservative leadership from our district.
